Satu tulisan di laman aktivis guaman Pusat Rakyat Loyar Burok mengutuk tindakan tindakan undang-undang ke atas individu yang berbogel di puncak Gunung Kinabalu.

Penulis itu juga menyifatkan kepercayaan warga setempat di kawasan Gunung Kinabalu itu “bodoh” kerana menyalahkan tindakan pelancong berbogel sebagai punca kejadian gempa bumi 5 Jun lalu.

Beliau secara langsung menamakan Timbalan Ketua Menteri Sabah, Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan yang mengaitkan perkara itu.

"Ianya memalukan kerana orang fikir semangat gunung yang membunuh orang tidak berdosa layak mendapat penghormatan.

“Satu kepercayaan bodoh tanpa sokongan bukti empiris tidak layak dihormati, tidak kiralah betapa kukuh pegangannya, tidak kira oleh ateis, Kristian, Muslim atau Dusun.

“Ini adalah asas kepada kemunasabahan,” kata penulis tersebut, yang dinamakan sebagai Shaun Tan.

Menurutnya lagi, tindakan undang-undang ke atas aktivis bogel berkenaan turut memberi dorongan kepada kepercayaan yang disifatkannya karut itu.

“Tiada siapa patut diapa-apakan kerana melakukan perkara yang tidak menggangu orang lain – dan gangguan akibat perasaan yang terlalu sensitif tidak perlu diambil kira,” tulisnya lagi di laman tersebut.

Beliau seterusnya menggesa warga Malaysia supaya bersikap lebih matang dan menghentikan tindakan ke atas pelancong berkenaan.

Tulisan itu muncul susulan tindakan polis menahan pendaki warga asing yang dipecayai berbogel di puncak Kinabalu.

Upacara berbogel itu membangkitkan kemarahan warga tempatan Kundasang kerana perlakuan pelancong tersebut yang tidak menghormati adat resam tempatan.

Polis menyiasat kes tersebut mengikut Seksyen 290 Kanun Keseksaan yang memperuntukkan denda sehingga RM400 jika sabit kesalahan.

Empat warga asing termasuk dua wanita ditahan reman hari ini selepas tiga daripada mereka menyerah diri berhubung kes tersebut.

Penemuan dua lagi mayat hari ini menjadikan jumlah gempa bumi tersebut sebanyak 18 orang.
